Moving the garden into the bankers church ...

I'm slacking in writing these blogs. I was going to write at least two a week but I'm not really sticking to it ... sorry!
Yesterday we got the keys to the new house in Reykjavík. It's sooooo cool. Walking distance from the center of town, my work, both Joannas jobs, my parents, a few friends and cycling distance from Jolyons school. The house is a three story, two bedroomed semi, in a row of houses called the 'Bankers Houses'. In 1929 the Icelandic banks were struggling to lend money to the population so they decided to build these, and a few more, for your avarage working class family to buy. In the end the houses were too expensive and only bankers, businessmen and such could afford them. Now your just-above-avarage working class family are moving in! It is worth mentioning that the architect that designed the houses also designed Landsspítalinn, the university hospital and Hallgrímskirkja, the biggest (by far) church in Iceland. Those of you that have come to visit will remember it as that grey church you can see wherever in Reykjavík you are ... and the view from the top of the tower is beautiful. But some of you already know that!
So, busy packing up the house in Garður ... unfortunately the people who have bought the house and asked to store a few boxes in the garage before moving in have actually filled it with most of there belongings so we can't pack or move our stuff ... you meet all sorts of people in this world, eh? I'll say no more about that one and hope that as promised, they will have taken some of it out again by the time we get home today ...
Magni Rocks, man! ... and his family is being flown out to LA courtesy of Gilby Clarke, Jason Newsted and Tommy Lee a.k.a. Supernova. That includes his son who is a similar age to my son Elijah ... ahhhh ...
